This photo was taken after sunset in Saguaro National Park located on the edge of Tucson Arizona. It was dark when I finished shooting and had to find my way out the desert back to my car. I made a mental note of a ridge so I had something to aim for and headed for it. I kept walking and walking without running into the road and started to get worried of being lost in the desert overnight. My legs were getting shredded by low cactus that I couldn’t see and at one point, I brushed into a furry animal that was crossing my path. I finally made it to the road and found my car.
- Paradise Basin is located about 12 miles from Crested Butte. I left the hotel about 5:30 am to catch the calm conditions and early light. I noticed that I only had just under 1/4 of a tank of gas as I passed that last gas station leaving town. I thought that would be plenty for a 24 mile round trip. About three quarters of the way up to the basin on a winding 4WD road, the gas gauge was now on empty and I and was forced to turn around and head back to town to fill up, delaying me about 20-30 minutes. When I finally made it up the basin, I immediately shot this image. If it wasn’t for the gas detour, I might have been too early and may have missed taking this shot.
- On the way to Boyne City from Charlevoix on a chilly fall morning before sunrise while visiting Charlevoix, Petoskey and Bay View Michigan.
- The Maroon Bells Group consists of three peaks above 14,000 feet located near Aspen Colorado. They are so spectacular that people actually pay money to see them. With the jagged peaks reflecting on the shimmering alpine lake, the Maroon Bells are probably Colorado's most recognizable scene. I took this photo in late September. When I arrived at the location at 5:45 am it was still dark, but I set my camera up and waited for this moment.
- This photo of Marcellina Mountain was taken in the fall of 2009 along Kebler Pass near Crested Butte.
- This shot was taken at sunrise after a heavy January snow. Located at the base of the Flatiron Mountains, Chautauqua Park offers paradise for hikers, birdwatchers and photographers. The massive Flatirons are unique sandstone formations cropping out from the base of the Rocky Mountains and can be seen from almost every vantage point in Boulder. Chautauqua Park is also home to the Chautauqua Summer Festival and the Colorado Music Festival.

- I found this location by accident one morning when I was looking for a trailhead. We had just received a heavy snow, and the fog was lifting around the Flatirons. The historic Chautauqua Auditorium (1898) located at the base of the majestic Flatiron Mountains, is home to the Chautauqua Summer Festival and the Colorado Music Festival. - This photo of the lighthouse during a late August sunset. For such a plain looking lighthouse, it is surprisingly very photogenic, thanks to the sleek profile of the south pier and beautiful background sunsets.

- This photo was taken in the fall of 2005 along Kebler Pass near Crested Butte. I was actually set to shoot the overly photographed Dykes when I turned around and saw this group of aspens behind me. The diffused light from the partly cloud skies prevented the peak colors and aspen trunks from washing out.
- This ghost town is located at about 11,800 ft off Hwy 62 south of Telluride. Its top population was 100 during the gold boom. An aerial tramway was used to move the ore to the mill below. George Westinghouse and Nikola Tesla worked at this site, making it the first mine to use AC electricity. Snow covered Wilson Peak (featured on the Coors Brewing Company label) can be seen off in the distance through the window. Gold was discovered here by Jack Mann in 1878.
